Here's the dump that I got on my last crash, I'm extremely inexperienced with Windows so if there's a better way to get troubleshooting information please let me know and I'll provide it. Now it crashes (maybe I should say bluescreen) after just a few minutes of gameplay in Overwatch (but not the other (maybe less gpu intensive) game) I tried. That's when I started crying and came here.ĭoes anyone have any ideas what could have changed, or what the problem may be? Again, this worked perfectly for many many hours without a hint of a problem. I quit out, launched Overwatch, and again crashed after 3 minutes. I downloaded steam and a game (Frostpunk), and played an hour or two with no issues at all. I launched the game and… it crashed after a few minutes.
MAC BOOTCAMP WINDOWS FOR OVERWATCH INSTALL
This time I skipped everything else, leaving the install completely stock, and used edge to download and install overwatch.
MAC BOOTCAMP WINDOWS FOR OVERWATCH HOW TO
So I tried the only other thing I knew how to do, went back to the mac side of things, used boot camp assistant to delete the whole install, and then re-installed from scratch. Trying Overwatch again, it crashed after a few minutes of gameplay. I went through their menus to try and update the driver, but it said it was current (and again, I took no action to change the driver after the weeks of this working perfectly, before constantly failing). I did some very basic troubleshooting, downloaded a "blue screen viewer", and saw that it was blaming the atikmdag.sys driver. Once it was done reinstalling, I did the same setup process, launched Overwatch, and again crashed after just a few minutes of gameplay. And again.Īt that point, I "restarted" windows or whatever they call it in the settings to basically reinstall windows, and I let it blow away all my files. 3 or 4 minutes in, and it happened again. I was annoyed, that was the first issue I had, but logged back in and tried again. Hard lockup, audio looping a half-second, and then after 20 seconds it went to the windows startup logo (not a literal Blue Screen, but I think that's still what it's called). Then I fired it up, without having made any changes that I know of, and the game crashed a few minutes into it. I don't know exactly how long, but many hours over that time. I have a MacBook pro 15 (Windows BootCamp), 8th gen intel cire i7 (2.8 GHz), Radeon Pro 560X 4096 MB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB, 32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM. I played the new patch for a few days, without problems. Overwatch put out a standard content patch last week ( ) that doesn't seem to be worrisome. I installed firefox, ad block plus, steam, and Overwatch. I set up bootcamp with Windows 10, with very little fiddling. I'm on a 2020 iMac (more details below) running Catalina 10.15.7 (19H2), which is up to date.
